“Racism still occupies the throne of our nation.” Dr. Martin Luther King,

The fight against racism is an immediate and urgent challenge. This seven-part
film series: with Ta-Nehisi Coates, the national correspondent for The Atlantic,
whose cover story “The Case for Reparations” and his new book “Between The
World And Me” are required reading; Black Panther Party activist and former
political prisoner Dhoruba Bin-Wahad; anti-racist writer and activist, Tim Wise;
the late Dr. Yosef Ben Jochannan, Afro-centric writer and historian; the
recently departed Fred Ho, jazz baritone saxophonist, composer, and Marxist
social activist; and the documentary Race and the Global Genocide of Black
People, explore the role that race plays in our society today and how it shaped
all of our economic and social institutions throughout U.S./Western European
history. Additionally, they all draw lessons from the rich history of struggles
for racial and economic justice for social change organizers to bring the issues
of racial justice into all areas of our work, and how, in doing so, we can
achieve more fundamental and systemic levels of change in society.
